It was an encounter with Mary Magdalene that brought me back to faith.
Most people who return to church have a whiz-bang encounter with Jesus Christ that restores them to faith, or introduces them to faith for the first time. For me, I needed the woman who knew him best to show me the way back to a Jesus-centered faith. She set the example and showed me the way.
Mary Magdalene represents the woman who moves fearlessly in a man’s world. She is unapologetic, yet gentle. She is misunderstood, miscategorized, and overlooked. Yet, if you look a little closer, she is often the at the center of the story, patiently waiting for the men around her to get with the program.
Meeting Magdalene is a space for women-centered faith. For questions, exploration, and support. It’s about being a modern-day woman in a man’s world, unafraid to tell the stories that change the course of human history.
